Iced
Overnight Method
Step 1
Begin by measuring 8 ounces of coarsely ground coffee and 4 quarts of fresh or filtered water. Divide the water equally into two half-gallon pitchers. Evenly distribute 4 ounces of ground coffee over the water in each pitcher. Cover the pitchers and allow the mixture to steep for 30 minutes before stirring.
Step 2
Re-cover the pitcher and allow it to rest at room temperature for the duration of the night.
Step 3
Employ a fine mesh strainer, lined with a double layer of cheesecloth or a coffee filter, and position it over a large pitcher. Carefully pour the coffee mixture into the strainer, permitting it to filter through. The straining process will require several minutes and should be conducted in batches of approximately 2 cups at a time. Once completed, dispose of the coffee grounds.
Step 4
Transfer the filtered coffee into a container and refrigerate it until it reaches a cool temperature.
Step 5
Begin by adding ice to a glass, then pour coffee until the glass is three-quarters full. Top off the remaining quarter with your preferred creamer blend. Savor the beverage!
